The CH Surface Skimming Decanter is designed for the controlled discharge of clarified supernatant from Sequencing Batch Reactor systems.
During the SBR process, inflow, aeration, sedimentation and discharge are performed cyclically within a single reactor. After the solids have settled, the decanter removes the upper clarified liquid while helping minimise the withdrawal of floating scum and settled sludge.
The system is hydraulically operated and can be configured according to tank layout, operating requirements, material specification and project conditions.
Sequencing Batch Reactor treatment combines the main treatment phases within a single basin. These phases generally include inflow, aeration, sedimentation and discharge.
After sedimentation, the clarified liquid at the upper portion of the tank must be discharged without disturbing the settled sludge. The CH Surface Skimming Decanter provides controlled movement during the discharge phase and helps reduce the withdrawal of floating scum.
The hydraulic operating system allows the decanter to move between its operating and resting positions according to the SBR treatment sequence.
Main Components
The CH Surface Skimming Decanter is available in Single Weir and Double Weir configurations. Final configuration and dimensions are selected according to tank layout, required decanting capacity and project conditions.
